Does your adventurous spirit seek French experiences in a château? Do you appreciate gourmet food? How about fine art? All this while tickling your creativity?
Realize all these dreams in one glorious long weekend:
We finally have a date for the château! Recently I visited the Dordogne region of France where my silk painting workshop will be held Sept 12-17, 2024. It was beautiful there! The castle is embedded in a small village of about 600 inhabitants; there is a small Romanesque church, a city hall, a school, and a boulangerie (bakery), all a few steps from the château. Lots of hiking trails crisscross the area, and a medieval bridge spans the river at the bottom of the hill.
I was delighted by how welcoming and down-to-earth the hosts are. Sara and Stephen Cole are a couple who dreamed of living in a French château and opening a creative business there. This is not a B&B nor a wedding venue; it is solely a place where creative people gather to engage in art making, learning, sharing and discussing their art and ideas. Everyone at the château speaks English. We’ll spend our days creating colorful, expressive, luxurious art and exploring the area, and lovely evenings gathered around the large fireplace or in the garden, enjoying the fading light after consuming a fabulous meal.
What a pleasant surprise to find out that two professional Le Cordon Bleu chefs will be solely dedicated to us for our time together at the château. How cool is that? Megan and Valérie, both recent graduates, opened their catering business Sel Hospitalité to provide excellent food in their own style.
I hope you can join me to delight in this adventure in southwestern France! Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions. You can find more information about Château Saint Germain des Prés here, the workshop here, and the chefs here.
