"Leaving Paris, Heading East" opened the exhibition, highlighting exploration and discovery, and how we begin our journey together.
My husband, Harvey, and I were off to discover the country of France in 2014. We spent a month in Paris being in the rhythm of the city, trying to live life as Parisians do.
We then packed up our bicycles & bags, and drove a Renault Kangoo around the country for over a month. The Kangoo was our kitchen, our bedroom and our living room, too. Driving through France was so much better in real life than we ever imagined.
Our first day out, we drove into this landscape:
Soothing and peaceful. Beautiful and calm.
Inviting.
Beckoning us with a curving road to move into our dreams.
I did not know at the time we would be living in France soon.
